Meet Rita Barreto Craig, Top Tier Leadership, this year’s Golden Mouse Award Honoree for Social Leadership
RITA B. CRAIG, Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), is founder and President of Top Tier Leadership, headquartered in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
If motivation and innovation are the lifeblood of business, Human Resources is the heart that keeps it all flowing. And nobody knows it better than Rita Craig. She taps into four decades of global human resources experience, including nearly 25 years in the corporate arena, to help transform clients – individuals, companies, public sector, and associations – into highly effective employees, executives, and organizations.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Rita draws from her life experience as one of 11 siblings, delighting audiences with her inspirational outlook, anecdotal approach to business strategies, and irresistible charm. When not speaking publicly, she engages employees, team leaders, and company presidents as a results-driven leadership coach, collaboration and team-building expert, and human resources consultant.
Well-versed in the issues that confront today’s businesses and well-grounded in down-to-earth reality, Rita knows how to get things done. She has developed and implemented hundreds of customized strategies for clients around the globe on such topics as leadership, ethics, personal success and organizational effectiveness, to name only a few. She insightfully speaks on topics like embracing diversity, managing multi-generational workforces and creating vision in a style that is entertaining as well as transformational—as evidenced by her client list of Fortune 50-500 companies in the United States, Canada, Europe, China, Singapore and Latin America, including Microsoft, Tyco, Johnson & Johnson and many others.
A member of the National Speakers Association (NSA) and the Global Speakers Federation, Rita has spoken before audiences of every size. Her publishing credits include Welcome to the Workforce, I Showed You So, and a manuscript entitled, Ethics: The Hot New ‘E’ Word, featured in the NSA’s first-ever book, Paid To Speak. Rita has received honors from the South Florida Business Journal, HR Florida, North Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, SER Jobs for Progress, and The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, and was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Human Resource Association of Palm Beach County—the first award of its kind ever given. Rita also received recognition from Governors Bush and Crist by being appointed to serve two terms on the Florida Commission for Human Resources, where she was voted chairperson by her peers, and the Century Commission for a Sustainable Florida, respectively. She has an MBA with a Specialty in Human Resources from Nova University and has also completed Columbia University’s Human Resources Executive Management Program, as well as being an active participant and supporter of numerous community and civic projects in her native Palm Beach Gardens area.
