"Meet Bernadette A. Morris - President/CEO Sonshine Communications"Bernadette A. Morris is the consummate leader and a successful business owner. A devout Christian, wife, mother, and successful corporate executive, Bernadette is passionate about making the difference of a lifetime for her family, her creative team, and her clients nationwide.

Bernadette is the founder and chairman of Sonshine Communications, a full service public relations, marketing and advertising agency. Incorporated in 1993, the firm is one of the largest and most successful Black-owned PR agencies in America. Sonshine has a creative team of professional writers, talented graphic and multimedia designers, savvy media buyers and top- notch marketing experts. Sonshine is federally certified and is the recipient of the federal government’s much-coveted Multiple Service Award Schedule in Marketing and Media Services.

Sonshine is also a certified minority vendor with numerous state, county and city entities. Over 750 women have participated in the organization’s programs and services.

Morris holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of North Florida. Prior to starting the firm, she served as Division Director/Associate Dean of Public Affairs at Miami-Dade College. She has also enjoyed a successful career in broadcast journalism where she was a publicist for PBS/NPR and a producer of children’s programs. Bernadette is committed to community support and ministry projects.

She serves as a mentor to various women in the ministry, volunteers on multiple councils and committees, and is a member of numerous local, state and national organizations. Bernadette is married to Colin Morris. Together, they have two young adults, Rebecca, an Executive Manager with Bloomingdale’s; and Stephen, a professional football player in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts.
