Meet Cristina Monge, Marketing Manager – CruiseOne & Cruises, Inc., this year’s Golden Mouse Award Honoree for Internet Marketing
Cristina Monge serves as the Marketing Manager for CruiseOne/Cruises Inc., which are part of World Travel Holdings, the world’s largest cruise agency and award-winning leisure travel company. Cristina has been instrumental in increasing franchisee/agent and consumer engagement with the brands by using social media, paid search advertising, display ads and video to create innovative marketing programs, campaigns, promotions and online initiatives. As a result, the number of qualified leads agents receive has increased by 32 percent year over year, the number of agents who have a presence on social media has increased by 43 percent and the corporate Facebook page has grown to 78,000 likes.
Since joining the company five years ago as a marketing specialist, Cristina has redefined the way more than 1,500 travel agents within CruiseOne/Cruises Inc. use online marketing and social media. She launched weekly consumer emails designed to encourage travel and keep consumers engaged with their travel agent. Cristina also took ownership of transactional emails that agents send to their clients, designing professional templates for sending price quotes, invoices and incremental reminders leading up to trips. In 2014, Cristina developed an online video strategy that includes nearly 50 professional travel videos to date with more being added monthly to each agent’s website and the corporate Youtube channel. The videos have garnered more than 320,000 views since launching. Most recently, Cristina oversaw the creation and implementation of an automated social media program which provides agents with a year’s worth of engaging content, as well as guidelines and trainings to increase their reach and engagement on their social platforms.
Born and raised in Spain, Cristina is fluent in Spanish and considered a franchise industry expert in social media and has taught workshops on using social media and creating an online presence. She was a panelist for “Media Strategies & Executions – Market Research: Understand The Customer’s Needs” at the Franchise Consumer Marketing Conference in Atlanta, Ga., and has also spoken at other franchising conferences nationwide. Prior to joining CruiseOne/Cruises Inc., Monge oversaw marketing and public relations for a South Florida-based restaurant franchise.WECAI HOME
